SYAL Cross Country Oswestry
30 Mar 2024
In glorious sunshine a small group of Shrewsbury youngsters travelled up to Oswestry on 24th March to compete in the final round of the SYAL against clubs from all over Shropshire.
A big thank you to the organisers for doing that little bit extra to get in the final fixture after a tough winter of cancellations.
Shrewsbury have been pretty dominant this year in the SYAL and we achieved the following success:

Well done on some amazing running yesterday and really putting the effort in this year.
Next year we anticipate the battle for the title will be far closer as Wrekin Harriers have lots of good runners moving up in age groups. These two clubs have been quite dominant this year and perhaps the biggest club in Shropshire
(I think they are called Telford) can put out some strong teams to challenge the big two.
Thank you for a great first year with the cross country, and we can’t wait to have a summer of track before we buckle in and re-engage to defend our title on the grass.
There is still much going on and we will update those on our email list with fun events for the kids to enjoy.
