Shrewsbury AC take part in the Shropshire Young Athletes Cross Country League. The dates for the 2018 season are:

16th  September. Lilleshall - National Sports Centre

21st October.  Bridgnorth - Oldbury Wells School.

11th November. Shrewsbury - Meole Brace School Fields
2nd December. Much Wenlock - William Brookes School Fields
The club also takes part in the North Staffs Cross Country League which includes races for junior as well as senior athletes. The dates for the 2018 season are:
29th September. Winsford
27th October. Stafford Common

17th November. Park Hall

15th December. Penkridge

U11 Cross Country Championships were held at Prestfelde School on Saturday 21st April 2018. Shrewsbury had 13 athletes entered in the four races, the teams were U10's and U11's. The results were as follows

Information for all Athletes and Parents

Training The last summer training session on Mondays will be 17th August.   I am away on 24th August and the following week is Bank Holiday so the track will be closed.  Wednesday sessions continue as normal starting at 5-45 finishing at 6-30.

September starts the autumn and winter season of mainly cross country conditioning and endurance.

Shropshire Athletes Cross Young Country League

The League is  good introduction to cross country and builds up to County Championships in January and Midland and National Championships in February.  Plus selection to school and County teams.  Age range is from Under 11′s to Under 17′s.  The dates and venues are listed below.

Can I request all athletes bring adequate clothing and fluids to each training session.  An extra hoody or warmer T shirt is required especially on the cooler evenings.  It is not necessary to train in track spikes.  In fact it is not advisable in winter.  Ordinary training shoes are preferred.  If you need any extra club kit please contact me and we can get some organised.  Club colours should be worn at all league meetings.
