It was a podium sweep for Shrewsbury Athletic Club at the 2016 Nuffield Shrewsbury Half Marathon, with club colleagues Brett Edwards 1st in 1/15/51, Pete Middleton 2nd in 1/16/10 and James Hickinbottom 3rd in 1/18/57, with a large entry of club and unattached runners completing the challenging 13.1 mile course.

The Club was represented in the unique Trail Marathon Wales, an arduous but spectacular course through the stunning trails and tracks of the world-renowned Coed y Brenin Forest in Snowdonia National Park, with Alan Dean finishing 21st in the Marathon Race in 3/49/20. The Half Marathon Race saw the Club take two age category winners, with Kevin Francis 18th in 1/37/20 and 1st Veteran Over 50 and club captain Graham Jones 27th in 1/43/38 and 1st Veteran Over 60. Graham Parton was 154th in 2/10/22.
