Personal best times tumbled for Shrewsbury Athletic Club runners as competition returned to the roads at the Cheshire Elite Marathon and Half Marathon. The event, staged for some of the quickest club runners in the country in response to the cancellation of major city marathons, saw runners complete laps of a 3.5 mile loop in rural Cheshire. There were excellent performances in the Half Marathon, with Lauren Cooper running 1:18:47(PB) for 5th Overall Female and 2nd Senior Female, Peter Middleton running 1:13:39 and Richard McKenna running 1:13:55(PB), winning the Male Vet 45 category. Performance of the day, however, was Paul Jones in the Marathon. He ran a blistering 2:30:48(PB), not only taking 2 minutes 27 seconds off his previous personal best and winning the Male Vet 50 Category on the day but also running the 6th fastest Marathon ever by a British Male Vet 50.

Half Marathon: Peter Middleton 1:13:39 (25th in Cat/31st Overall), Richard McKenna 1:13:55 pb (1st in Cat/34th Overall), Lauren Cooper 1:18:47 pb (2nd in Cat/5th Overall)

Marathon: Paul Jones 2:30:48 pb (1st in Cat/50th Overall)
