Shrewsbury Athletic Club was represented in the Half Marathon Race of the unique Trail Marathon Wales, an arduous but spectacular course through the stunning trails and tracks of the world-renowned Coed-y-Brenin Forest in the Snowdonia National Park, with the Club's versatile veteran, Graham Jones winning the Veteran Over 60 crown for the second successive year, finishing 12th in 1/45/17. He was followed by Graham Parton, 90th in 2/07/01, Duncan Rose 189th in 2/22/50 and Sam Clemmett 202nd in 2/24/49.

 

Gabe Morris finished 13th in 23/09 in the Pontesbury Fell Race, the fifth fixture in the Shropshire Summer Fell Race Series, with Kevin Francis 32nd in 25/54, Gill Evans 75th in 30/30 and 1st Lady Veteran Over 55, maintaining her lead in the Category with two races to go and Gordon Trevor 110th in 47/01.

 

Eight Club runners competed in the Shrewsbury Half Marathon, completing the course on one of the hottest days of the year. Pete Middleton was first home for the Club in 13th place in 1/20/58 and Ollie Parry returning successfully from injury, 20th in 1/14/24, a personal best by 7 minutes.

46 Matt Guilder 1/30/18, 98 Connor Middleton 1/37/05, 147 Pete Hughes 1/42/21, 196 Jenna Middleton 1/45/17, 228 Lucy Grayston 1/47/13, 556 Michael Thomas 2/01/29.

 

There was team success in the Stafford Showground Relays, with the Four Fast Pleasant Pheasant Pluckers team of Graham Jones, 11/45, Pete Savill, 12/15, Chris Wakeman, 12/38 and Duncan Rose, 13/31, finishing first in the Ultra Super Vets category.

 

Steve Waters finished 7th in the Park Hall 5K race in 17/21, with Carl Aveyard 9th in 17/25.
