Iris Downes - Success at European Junior Championships

Huge congratulations to Shrewsbury AC athlete and European Junior Bronze Medalist Iris Downes, who came third in a tightly-contested 800m final at the European Junior Athletics Championships in Jerusalem.
A strong kick saw Iris into third place, her time of 2:09.56 just fractions of a second behind Jana Becker of Germany in second and the Norwegian Malin Hoelsveen who took the win.
Congratulations to Iris, to her family and to her coach Colin Lancaster on a fantastic success.
