Shrewsbury Athletic Club's top fell runner Sara Willhoit is just two weeks away from her debut race running for Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the World Long Distance Mountain Running Championships in Villa La Angostura in Argentina on November 16th. She will be part of a strong quartet of women runners, headed up by the reigning world champion Charlotte Morgan who won the 2018 Womens' Race, who will face the world's best long distance mountain runners over 42Km and who will be looking to emulate the silver medal won by the team in 2018.
The race is a massive step up for the Shrewsbury runner who has been training hard over the Shropshire Hills and in the Peak District and culminated in third place in the Womens' Race in the Jungfrau Marathon around the Bernese Oberland area of the Swiss Alps in September, beating her 2018 time by 17 minutes.
