Shrewsbury Athletic Club runners turned out in force for the Telford 10K Race on Sunday, a highly regarded event on the National calendar attracting runners from all over the UK and ranked as the fastest 10K in the UK. The race lived up to its reputation with six Club runners clocking personal best times, Matt Hall in 95^th place, Club newcomer Matt Costello 110^th in his first race in Club colours, Jim Hickinbottom 121^st, Charlie Rogers 151^st, Jake Milovsorov 194^th and Simon Cole 410^th.

There was an age category victory for Graham Jones, 1^st Veteran Over 60.

On the international scene, two Club runners competed in the Valencia Marathon, with Jon Bowie producing a personal best time of 2/28/09 in 164^th place and 14^th in the Veteran Over 40 category and Paul Jones 323^rd in 2/36/50 and 10^th in the Veteran Over 45 category, in a field of over 21,000 runners.

In other road races, Colin Perry finished 31^st and 2^nd Veteran Over 40 in the Nottingham Christmas Half Marathon in 1/27/05, Richard Jones was 44^th and 1^st Veteran over 55 in the Aberystwyth 10K in 40/34 and there were personal best times in the Wilmslow Festive 10K for Jamie Lambie, 19^th in 32/18 and Pete Hughes 205^th in 38/45. Matt Wooden finished 15^th in the Ravenstonedale 10K in Cumbria in 40/36.

Gill Evans was the sole Club competitor in the second and third fixtures of the Shropshire Winter Hills Series, finishing 96^th and 3^rd Lady Veteran Over 50 in the Wrekin Wrecker race in 1/36/51 and 170^th and 2^nd Lady Veteran Over 55 in the Cardington Cracker in 2/06/02.
