Nine runners from Shrewsbury Athletic Club competed in the Lake Vyrnwy Half Marathon, with five of the squad achieving personal best times. In the Men's race, the squad were led home by Luke Butler in a personal best time of 1/17/04, with personal bests in addition for Carl Aveyard, Rob Fox and Keith Austin. Naomi Cook represented the Club in the Women's race, finishing 28th in a personal best time of 1/34/32.

Kevin Francis has won the Veteran Over 50 category in the North Staffordshire Road Runners Association Series after he finished 13th and 1st Veteran Over 50 in the Ipstones 5 Mile Race in 31/39, achieving maximum points over the twelve qualifying races. Chris Wakeman was 52nd and 2nd Veteran Over 60 at Ipstones in 35/42.
Steve Turk was 1st Veteran Over 50 and finished 13th in the Ras Cryn Y Brain Fell Race on the Horseshoe Pass in Llangollen in 55/09, with Club colleague Gill Evans 65th and 3rd Lady Veteran Over 55 in 72/24.
In the Midland Six Stage Relays at Sutton Park, Birmingham, a strong squad of Club runners finished 26th out of 105 teams in the Senior Men's relay, meaning that they would qualify for the National Road Relays in two weeks time. However, because of a clash with the opening fixture of the North Wales Cross Country League, which the Club is hosting at Walford College, the team is not able to take part. The relay comprised legs of 5.88Km and the squad times were, James Hickinbottom 19/24, Luke Butler 20/21, Richard Mckenna 20/47, Rob Fox 20/16, Steve Waters 20/23, Charlie Rogers 20/40. Three Club runners ran in the Masters' relay, with Haydn Jones timed at 23/59, Simon Cole 23/06 and Duncan Rose 26/21.
Three Club runners represented Shropshire in the Meerbrook 15K race on the Staffordshire Moorlands, with Kevin Francis 28th and 1st Veteran Over 50 in 61/52, Sara Willhoit 37th and 2nd in the Women's race in 64/06 and Lauren Morley 56th and 10th in the Women's race in 69/21. Stewart Farley set a new personal best time of 1/24/47 at the Abersoch Half Marathon finishing in 9th place.
Pete Middleton had an outstanding run in the Wachau Marathon in Austria, finishing in 3rd place in a time of 2/43/05, despite suffering with cramp from a long way out.
