Shrewsbury Athletic Club brought their North Wales Cross Country League season to a victorious conclusion at the final fixture at Oswestry on Saturday when the Mens' team were crowned champions for the 2015/16 season. The new enthusiasm which has shone through this season was maintained, with 18 club runners turning out for the final race, resulting in 1st team on the day and for the Series. Adam Roberts saved his best performance for last in his first North Wales season for the Club, leading the side home in 5th place, James Hickinbottom similarly rising to the occasion and in close contention with his highest placing in 6th. Pete Middleton in 9th and Gabe Morris in 10th place meant the Club had four finishers in the first 10. Matt Hall and Scott Hall finished 13th and 14th to complete the team scorers.
The Male Masters' team were 2nd in the Series and there were individual successes in the Series for Gabe Morris, 1st equal Senior Man, Kevin Francis 2nd Over 45, Richard Jones 1st equal Over 50, club captain Graham Jones 1st Over 55 and Pete Savill 1st Over 60

The Womens' team were 6th in Division 2 for the Series and were led home by Jacqueline Macey, 18th in 25/46, Lauren Morley 19th in 26/06, Sheila Richards 70th in 43/05 and Anne Byrne 72nd in 44/06. Sheila Richards and Anne Byrne were 2nd and 3rd Over 60 for the Series.
On the Fell Running scene, the Shropshire weekend was staged, with theTitterstone Clee Race on Saturday and the Long Mynd Valleys Race on Sunday. At Titterstone, Steve Turk finished 10th in 24/45 and Gill Evans 35th and 1st Lady Veteran Over 50 in 32/04, while in the Valleys race, Adam Roberts finished 48th, the day after leading the Club side home at the Oswestry cross country, in 2/15/25, with Gill Evans 117th and 2nd Lady Veteran Over 50, in 2/37/49. Gill Evans was 1st Lady Veteran Over 50 for the two race weekend.
On the Sunday, Neil O' Hanlon finished 2nd in the Stourbridge Stagger, a 10 mile multi-terrain race hosted by Stourbridge Running Club.
