October Marathon Round-up
07 Oct 2022
We're in the thick of marathon season at the moment, and this weekend we had a number of athletes travel the length of the country putting their summer training to good use.
In the Highlands Lauren Morley and Mark Smith took on the scenic Loch Ness Marathon, run along the southern shore of the Loch to Inverness. They both ran well, Lauren to 3:23:17 and Mark 3:44:15.
Much closer to home, the Chester marathon saw Peter Middleton run 2:55:12 in a tutu fundraising for the important work of the Hope House Hospice. We've included a link to Peter's Justgiving page if you feel you would like to help support the charity. Jim Hall also had a great day, 3:04:50 in his first attempt at the distance.
Of course, this weekend was also the London Marathon, and a good group of Salopians travelled to the capital to race. Well done to Connor Middleton (2:42:01, a big PB), Rich McKenna (2:45), Stu Smith (2:56), Simon Cole (3:13) and Jordan Brown (3:30) on great runs.
