Nuneaton Night of Endurance - New Club Record
10 Aug 2024
A few of our athletes went to Nuneaton on 7th August to compete in their night of endurance event. It’s fair to say they all ran really well and achieved great times. It was a little breezy, but other than that, the weather was quite favourable.
First up was Libby C (U13) who improved on her PB by over 9 seconds getting a time of 5:07.31.
She was strong throughout and finished well down the home straight. This time puts her in the top 40 in the UK on power of 10.
Next up was Chloe S (U15)who also an amazing time of 4:45.77, which beat her previous PB by 11 seconds. This was probably Chloe’s best ever performance as she was able to pace herself better than ever before meaning she could finish really strong. This time puts her in the top 50 in the UK on power of 10.
Next up was Oscar A (U13) who managed to shave off just over a second from his previous PB with a time of 4:41.97, and in doing so has managed to break the U13 1500m boys record of 4:42.9, which was set by Tim Boyle during the 1995/1996 season. If anybody knows Tim, please let him know his record stood for nearly 30yrs!
Last up was Dan N (U20) who ran in the final 1500m race and he managed to run 4:19.77 which was a fraction of a second slower than his PB.
All of our athletes ran extremely well tonight and it’s looking like we are going to have a great winter of endurance events on the grass and road.
I have the list of the club records and will put a post about all the new records from this season once the track season has ended.
