Girl Power- New club record
11 Aug 2024
Two of our athletes competed yesterday in different events across the country.
Selina V compete at Nuneaton in the Quad against in the U13 category. Selina is a lower year and performed well in the 100m, long jump, howler and 600m over the day. When the scores were totalled up similar to that in a heptathlon, Selina had done enough to claim gold in the competition by a good margin. Pretty amazing if you ask me!
Roni K competed in an 800M event in Derby. The event was stacked with talent with six of the top 11 UK ranked girls for the 800M in her heat. Not wanting to be denied another PB, Roni was able to put in some serious graft and perseverance to cross the line in 2:28.47, which is a small PB, meaning she has lowered the club U13 800m girls record for the second time in six weeks. There must be something in the water in Shrewsbury.
Friends on and off the track. Amazing running girls.
