With many of the Club’s runners having raced the previous day in the Midland Road Relays, Gabe Morris was the sole Shrewsbury AC runner contesting the local Seven Bridges 10k on Sunday 20th September. Gabe, who has had a successful year competing on both the roads and fells impressively bettered last year’s 5th place finish by winning the race in a time of 35.31. His time was impressive given the challenging, twisty course and was only narrowly outside his PB making it his best run over the 10k distance to date. His performance was made all the more impressive as he beat local runner Tony Power and Halesowen AC’s Tom Kenderdine, 2 runners with plenty of pedigree who had finished ahead of him in 2nd and 3rd respectively last year.
