18 year old Liam Rawlings ran a thrilling 3000m race in Milton Keynes last week, qualifying with the GB standard for the European Junior Championships, with an 8.19.7 PB and top 5 in the UK. Liam ran an inspired race for a close 2nd, chasing 22 year old Freddy Richardson to the line.
Yesterday at Sport City, Liam also raced 1500m in a PB of 3.52.1 for a close run 3rd, currently ranking him 12th in the UK.
Last week in Birmingham, 16 year old Iris Downes raced 1500m in 4.31.62 in her first serious 1500m race, ranking her 4th in the UK at U17.Yesterday at Sport City, Iris again ran a strong, spirited race for a great 2.08.73 800m, also ranking her 4th in the UK.
To cap a great week, 14 year old Jack Kinrade ran a scorching 1.58.93 800m at Millfield yesterday, against athletes 4-5 years older. This ranks Jack a close 2nd in the UK U15 rankings, with rare speed endurance for that age.
