Shrewsbury Athletic Club Men's team have secured promotion from Division 2 to Division 1 after their first season in the North Staffordshire Cross Country League, this followed the cancellation of the final fixture at Staffordshire University, because of freezing rain making the car parks and footpaths too dangerous. The Men's team finished 2nd in Division 2, spearheaded by Matt Hall, who finished 3rd individual male for the Series, with Pete Savill 1st Veteran Over 60 and Gill Evans 1st Lady Veteran Over 55 in the Women's Series.
At the Shropshire County Cross Country Championships at Attingham Park, a strong Men's squad comprising Matt Hall, Paul Jones, James Hickinbottom, Gabe Morris, Pete Middleton and Dan Elliott finished 2nd in the Men's team event, with individual successes for Matt Hall, 2nd Senior Man and Paul Jones 2nd Veteran Man. Lauren Morley was 3rd Senior Lady in the Women's Race. There were team successes for the Club Juniors, finishing 2nd in the Under 13 Girls race and 3rd in the Under 13 Boys race and there were individual successes for Adam Edwards, who led all the way to win the Under 13 Boys race, Iris Downes, 3rd in the Under 13 Girls race, narrowly missing out on 2nd place and Jess Gunner, 3rd in the Under 15 Girls race. Adam Edwards, Iris Downes, Jess Gunner and Lydia Carter have been selected to represent Shropshire at the Inter Counties Cross Country Championships at Loughborough in March.

The third fixture of the Shropshire Hills Winter Series the Cardington Cracker, has taken place, with Lauren Morley finishing 20th Lady in 1/49/14 in her first fell race for the Club and Gill Evans 22nd Lady in 1/51/27 and 2nd Lady Veteran Over 55. Carl Aveyard finished 19th in 23/59 in the Wolverhampton Turkey Trot, normally a 5 Mile Race, but shortened this year because of ice in the Aldersley Stadium.
At the Telford 10K Race, Kevin Francis was first home for the Club and 3rd Veteran Over 50 , with Pete Savill 1st Veteran Over 65 and Lydia Carter 1st Under 17 Woman. Results: 152 Kevin Francis 37/44, 178 Stewart Farley 39/27, 200 Keith Austin 40/40, 201 Pete Savill 40/50, 206 Lydia Carter 41/10(21st Lady), 305 Lucy Grayston 45/41(43rd Lady).
On the indoor scene, husband and wife team, Emily and Patrick McBride have been flying the flag for the Club, with Emily winning a bronze medal in the Senior Women's Pentathlon in the South of England Indoor Combined Events Championships at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre in London and Patrick, finishing 24th in the Senior Men's Heptathlon and 5th Midlands athlete at the England Athletics Senior and Under 20 Combined Events Championships at the English Institute of Sport, Sheffield.
