English Schools T&F Championships 2022

13 Jul 2022

It was a successful weekend for our juniors at the English Schools Athletics Championships, as a number of our young athletes answered the call to represent Shropshire at the historic meet.

Jack Kinrade led the way with an excellent bronze medal in the 800m, finishing 3rd with a time of 1:54.18 in the final. Jack continues to compete at the top level of junior athletics in the country, and this result is further proof of his potential.

Madeleine Aiston ran in the 100m, running 12.92 in the heat, and Menna Pugsley ran 43.41 in the 300m heat in her second appearance at Schools.

The club were represented in the 1500m by both Beth Trow and Will Singleton, Beth running 4:38.17 in the heat and Will progressing to the final where he ran 4:00.92 for 15th place.

It was not all about the runners, with Bridget Williams competing in the Long Jump, where her longest jump of 4.71m saw her finish 14th.

To be selected for English Schools is a huge honour, the athletes will have been competing alongside future Olympians and household names and making memories to treasure.

Congratulations to everyone who competed.
